You would expect the government to have encrypted video transmission on a multi million dollar Predator drone. However that is not the case as the the WSJ is reporting that insurgents in Iraq have been using $26 software (probably downloaded from The Pirate Bay) to monitor the video feeds of said UAV.

What is more interesting is the U.S government has known about the flaw for years but didn’t think insurgents would be smart enough to exploit the flaw. To sum it up, the problem is being worked on and should be fixed soon, but it is quite hard as the technology used in these things are 20 years old and its still proprietary.

Just goes to show that you can never underestimate the power of those trying to destroy you.
